Mark Barrenechea

Mark J. Barrenechea

Vice Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer

Mark J. Barrenechea joined OpenText as President and Chief Executive Officer in January 2012, and also serves as a member of the Board. In January 2016, Mark took on the role of Chief Technology Officer. In September 2017, he was appointed Vice Chair.

Mark oversees the strategic direction of the organization. Under his direction, OpenText has grown both organically and through strategic acquisitions, into a $2.8 billion technology company and has successfully transformed into an Information Management leader.

Mark has been the recipient of many accolades over the years. In 2011, the San Francisco Business Times named him the 2011 Best Large Company CEO. Most recently, he was named the 2015 Results-Oriented CEO of the year by the CEO World Awards. The prestigious award recognizes Mark’s leadership and innovation in attaining results for the company and its customers.

In addition, Mark has authored many books including The Intelligent and Connected Enterprise, The Golden Age of Innovation, On Digital, and eGovernment or Out of Government. He has also authored several white papers, such as The Resilient Organization: COVID-19 and New Ways to Work, Cloud: The Destination for Innovation, Security: Creating Trust in a Zero Trust World, and The Information Advantage.

Muhi Majzoub

Muhi S. Majzoub

Executive Vice President & Chief Product Officer, OpenText

Muhi S. Majzoub is the Executive Vice President & Chief Product Officer for OpenText. Joining the company in 2012, Muhi has held various senior executive positions. He currently leads the development organization to define the vision and strategy for OpenText products and their transition to the cloud.

Prior to OpenText, Muhi was Chief of Products for NorthgateArinso, where he was responsible for defining the company's product vision, strategy and the development life cycle. He focused on consolidating the late software portfolio and developing new product capabilities for both cloud and on-premise solutions.

Muhi has also held the position of Senior Vice President of Product Development for CA, Inc., where he was responsible for the development of the common technology platform and components and integration strategy.

Prior to CA, Muhi was Vice President of Product Development at Oracle Corporation. During his tenure at Oracle, he was responsible for the delivery of the Sales Automation Suite, including Sales Online TeleSales, Sales Compensation, Sales Intelligence and many other Internet technology projects, such as Oracle Store, and the MetaLink TAR system.

Al Gore

Former Vice President Al Gore is the cofounder and chairman of Generation Investment Management, and the founder and chairman of The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit devoted to solving the climate crisis. He is also a senior partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and a member of Apple Inc.’s board of directors.

Gore was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1976, 1978, 1980 and 1982 and to the U.S. Senate in 1984 and 1990. He was inaugurated as the 45th vice president of the United States on January 20, 1993 and served eight years.

He is the author of the #1 New York Times best-sellers An Inconvenient Truth and The Assault on Reason, and the best-sellers Earth in the Balance, Our Choice: A Plan To Solve the Climate Crisis, The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change, and most recently, The New York Times best-seller An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.

He is the subject of the documentary movie “An Inconvenient Truth,” which won two Oscars in 2006 -- and a second documentary in 2017, “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.” In 2007, Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, for "informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change."

Poppy Crum

Dr. Poppy Crum

Expert in Technology-Driven Innovation & Human Evolution, Stanford University Adjunct Professor, Chief Scientist at Dolby Laboratories, Neuroscientist, and Technologist

Dr. Poppy Crum is a visionary futurist and neuroscientist whose work sits at the intersection of technology advancement and human evolution. Highly regarded in both the technology sector and academic circles, she is an Adjunct Professor in Computer Research at Stanford University and the Chief Scientist at Dolby Laboratories, a leading global innovator and developer of audio, imaging, and voice technologies. An advocate for the kind of technology that learns more about us as we use it, Dr. Crum works to bridge the gap between rapidly evolving technology and insightful, more effective human interaction. At Dolby, she builds technologies that best leverage human physiology to enhance our experiences and the ways we interact with our world, using a deep understanding of human behavior, personalized data, and technologies including wearable technology, immersive technology, AI and machine-learning, facial and voice recognition software, and AR and VR to power industry innovation. At Stanford, her work focuses on the impact and feedback potential of new technologies including gaming and immersive environments, such as Augmented and Virtual Reality on neuroplasticity and learning.

Dr. Crum is a US representative and vice-chair to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and a member of the Stanford Research Institute Technical Council. She is also a member of the Board of Industry Leaders for the Consumer Technology Association. Prior to joining Dolby Laboratories, she was Research Faculty in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where her neurophysiological research focused on understanding the neural correlates of how we hear in a complex acoustic environment and the functional circuitry of the auditory cortex.

She is a Fellow of the Audio Engineering Society, and a 2018 recipient of the Advanced Imaging Society’s Distinguished Leadership Award. She is a 2017 recipient of the Consumer Technology Association’s Technology and Standards Achievement Award for work towards the introduction of over-the-counter hearing-aid devices. She was named to Billboard magazine’s 100 most influential female executives in the music industry. Prior to academic study as a neuroscientist and work in industry, she was a performance violinist.

Dr. Crum is a frequent speaker on topics related to the intersection of human experience, artificial intelligence, sensory data-science, and immersive technologies.
